We all know that photos are a great way to capture those special moments in time. In celebration of Halloween, I thought I would share a personal photo of my own that brings back special memories of my childhood not thought of for decades.
This blast from the past is a recently discovered photo of me from 40 years ago in a homemade – except for the fan magazine-bought mask – Star Wars Stormtrooper costume. Looking at this photo, I can almost smell the glossy white spray paint as I remember:
- the hours spent making the armor by hand from cardboard and masking tape
- how the arm and leg pieces were form fitting and thus failed to stay in place and kept slipping
- the pair of cowboy boots I spray painted white and my parent’s anger when they found out
- the cardboard blaster made from tape, cardboard, and yes, toilet paper rolls
- how wearing it made it hard to move and see, but how amazing this costume was in 1982 and how everyone loved it
The magic of photos is that they can transport you right back in time and help you relive those favorite memories that might be gone but never forgotten. At Gold Star Photo Solutions, we can help you preserve those favorite memories too whether they are polaroid prints, slides, movies, or other kinds of media.
